Fred Barber, Mr. Barber, a 21-year Navy veteran, formed Power Plant Management Services, LLC in September of 2006 for the purpose of providing Asset and Operational Management Services for investor owned Projects. Mr. Barber has been engaged in various project management functions including General Management of Mustang Station and Denver City Energy, Executive Director of Operations for NRG Energy and Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, Plant Manager and General Manager of combined cycle power plants in New Jersey and Texas. Mr. Barber has over 30 years experience in engineering, construction, maintenance and electric power industry operations.Scott I. Gross, Mr. Gross is Finance & Accounting Director for PPMS. He offers over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting and management positions. This experience includes accounting management, M&A activities, asset acquisitions and divestures, negotiating transactions, managing a portfolio of assets, and business development. Mr. Gross joined PPMS in January 2007. Prior to PPMS, Mr. Gross served as Vice President for Quixx Corporation, a subsidiary of Xcel Energy. He also held senior financial positions with Southwestern Public Service Company.
Melvin D. Murphy, Mr. Murphy is a Projects General Manager for PPMS. He offers over 16 years of power plant operations and maintenance experience, following a 15 year naval career including nuclear propulsion operations. Mr. Murphy joined PPMS in January 2007. Prior to PPMS, he served as Vice President & General Manager of Quixx Power Services , a subsidiary of Xcel Energy. He also held power plant operations and maintenance positions at Woodland Biomass Power, and Kingsburg Cogeneration Facility where he became plant manager. His technology experience includes natural gas and dual fuel Dry Low NOX Combustion Turbine and Combined Cycle facilities, Biomass Fired Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler, and Natural Gas Fired Boilers.
David Coke, Mr. Coke is a Projects General Manager for PPMS. He offers over 33 years experience in Asset Management, O&M, and Start-up, and he provides analysis on how these issues affect the cash flow of the venture. Mr. Coke joined PPMS in April 2007. Prior to PPMS, he served as Executive Director with E3 Consulting, VP Operations with American National Power, and General Manager O&M with Ebasco Services. He also held senior engineering and management position with TXU. He has a keen focus on achieving outstanding returns to shareholders, superior service to customers, and providing a great place to work for employees.
Lesa Wood, Ms. Wood is a Project Accountant for Denver City Energy Associates and serves as Controller for PPMS. She offers 14 years of experience in finance and accounting positions. This experience includes finance, tax, audit and business management as well as preparing monthly, quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements for investors, creditors and management use. Ms. Wood joined PPMS in May 2007. Prior to PPMS, Ms. Wood was self-employed as an on independent CPA, and served as a staff accountant for Johnson, Miller & Company, CPAs.
Brian Henderson, Mr. Henderson is a Senior Project Accountant for PPMS and serves as Controller & Secretary for Black River Energy, LLC. He offers over 32 years of experience in finance, accounting and management positions. This experience includes accounting management, M&A activities, tax, audit preparation and business development. Mr. Henderson joined PPMS in May 2007. Prior to PPMS, Mr. Henderson held several senior financial positions for J.A. Jones and Hershey Foods Corporation. He also served as Vice President Finance / CFO for Robert C. Strickland Co.
Matt Wolske, Mr. Wolske is the General Manager for Denver City Energy Associates-Mustang Station and serves as a Projects General Manager for PPMS. He offers over 15 years experience in power plant and asset management, facility operations and maintenance, construction, start-up/commissioning, and engineering. Mr. Wolske began working with PPMS in June 2007 following his tenure with North American Energy Services as Plant Manager for Mustang Station. Additional projects include two MidAmerican Energy facilities, Yuma Cogeneration Associates and Power Resources, Inc., where he held several managerial and technical positions consisting of Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, EH&S Coordinator, and Plant Engineer.
Gordon Holk, Mr. Holk is a Projects General Manager for PPMS. He offers over 20 years experience in Asset Management, O&M, Construction oversight, and Start-up. Mr. Holk joined PPMS in January 2008. Prior to PPMS, he served as Business Manager with Calpine, Project General Manager with NRG, LS Power and Sithe. Early in his career he held technical positions with Wheelabrator and served 6 years in the Navy. He has excellent training, recruiting, Business Plan development, budget analysis, and implementation, and team building skills.
John C. Buckley, Mr. Buckley is General Counsel for PPMS. He offers over 25 years experience in enterprise support functions including Legal, EHS, HR, Engineering, and Marketing. Mr. Buckley joined PPMS in January 2008. Prior to PPMS, he served in multiple enterprise support roles with several companies, including as Assistant General Counsel/Global EHS Director with Polypore, General Counsel/VP EHS with Renewable Energy, and Counsel / EHS manager with USOSC (PG&E/Bechtel). His career also includes management and senior technical or legal roles with Duke Energy, UtiliCorp, E3 Consulting, Maryland Power Plant Research Program, Miles & Stockbridge, and NRG.
Don Burkard, Mr. Burkard is a Projects General Manager for PPMS. He offers 30 years experience in power generation. Mr. Burkard joined PPMS in February 2008. Prior to PPMS, he served as Plant Manager for Crockett Cogeneration. His career also includes management and senior technical roles with Gaylord Container, and 17 years with General Electric, including regional responsibilities for Steam Turbine Field Engineering Services, repair support (electrical and mechanical) for PG&E’s Geysers turbine fleet and leadership for a certified GE Steam turbine and Generator repair facility.
Jessie T. Wilson, Mr. Wilson is a Project Accountant for PPMS. He offers over 14 years of experience in accounting positions. This experience includes preparing monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements (I/S, B/S, Cash Flow, Actual to Budget Reports, Debt Service Coverage Ratio) and other management reports. Mr. Wilson joined PPMS in March 2008. Prior to PPMS, Mr. Wilson held accounting positions for North American Energy Services, Utility Engineering, Quixx Corporation, Weyerhaeuser Paper Company and Amarillo V.A. Medical Center. Mr. Wilson also served as a Gas Turbine System Electrician with the US Navy.
Betsy E. Smith, Ms. Smith is a Project Accountant for PPMS. She offers 9 years of experience in accounting positions. This experience includes analyzing business clients’ general ledger accounts, preparing monthly financial statement compilations, and entering all transactions, and subsequently analyze and reconcile inventory, A/P, A/R, payroll, fixed assets, equity, and all other accounts. Ms. Smith joined PPMS in May 2008. Prior to PPMS, Ms. Smith was self-employed as an independent CPA, served as a tax consultant for Deloitte & Touche, staff accountant for Lynch & Howard, and as accounting manager for Petway Mills & Pearson.
Frank Basile, Mr. Basile is a Projects General Manager for PPMS. He offers 22 years of experience in Power Asset Management, which includes predominantly gas-fired combined cycle facility construction, commissioning and O&M direction. Having managed Berkshire Power Company, LLC, since its inception in 1998, Mr. Basile joined PPMS in January of 2009, to continue to provide site asset management services. Prior to the construction of Berkshire Power, Mr. Basile was employed by J. Makowski Associates and later US Generating as Project Engineering Manager and O&M Manager at the MASSPOWER and Selkirk Cogen Facilities, thereby overseeing construction and commissioning with Bechtel Power, and O&M services with General Electric.
Karen S. Thomas, Ms. Thomas, as the Office/Accounting Manager for PPMS, manages client billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, internal accounting functions and office management duties. Prior to joining Power Plant Management Services, LLC, Karen held the position of firm administrator for a leading bankruptcy and turnaround management firm.
Robin Shropshire, Ms. Shropshire manages Environmental Health & Safety and Regulatory Compliance for PPMS. Robin was appointed by the Governor of Montana to serve on the Montana Board of Environmental Review, and has also been a Helena City Commissioner, as well as a Professor at the University of Montana at Helena. Earlier in her career she managed the Duke Engineering & Services office in Calgary, and served as an EHS Manager for Duke Energy's midstream business.
William Smith, Mr. Smith manages Financial Analysis for PPMS. Bill worked for Wachovia/Wells Fargo Bank in structured transactions, analytic research, and retail forecasting and for Bank of America as a risk analyst. Prior to his career in banking, he worked for Piedmont Natural Gas and Duke Energy. While at Duke, he was responsible for directing financial analysis and structured transactions to support the maintenance, planning, and reliability of generation assets. He also served in a leadership role in Duke’s regulated energy trading division and as an analyst with DukeSolutions. Bill started his career with NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland where he was employed as an aerospace engineering technician and toolmaker and later was promoted to Manufacturing Engineer and Operations Research Analyst.
